Mother’s Day Surprise as Sam is Crowned Celebrity Mum of the Year

Closeronline recently launched their annual ‘Mum of the Year’ awards in conjunction with Mother’s Day. There were three categories for the awards; ‘Celebrity Mum of the Year’, ‘Blogger Mum of the Year’ and ‘Inspirational Mum of the Year’.

The polls were posted on Closeronline and allowed visitors of the site to vote. The X Factor superstar Sam Bailey was entered into the awards. The poll was live for 2 weeks and on Mothering Sunday it was announced that Sam had won and now holds the Celebrity Mum of the Year title!

Natasha Hamilton, Michelle Heaton, Claire Sweeney, Jennifer Ellison and Katie Piper were the celebrities that Sam was up against in the running for the award. Sam quickly climbed through the ranks and went on to prevail claiming over 50% of the votes. Sam has a vast f
fan base and throughout the competition they took to social media to show their support for the singer and urged everyone to vote. The singing sensation is extremely thankful and said of her win:

“I am so happy! Thank you so much to everyone who voted for me. Everyone who knows me knows that my kids are my life and I would do anything for them”

“It’s so hard being away from them while I’m touring and I miss them so much, so to be recognised for this award just feels amazing to me!”

As Closer’s Celebrity Mum of the Year Sam will be featured in Closer magazine to celebrate her win, as well as winning a much deserved family holiday in the Mediterranean town of Alayna. The child friendly resort will be a fantastic way to celebrate a great achievement and relax with her family.

Sam is a mother to three children Brooke, 10, Tommy, 6 and Miley, 1 and it is impossible to ignore the love that she has for them.

Everything Sam does is for her children. She is currently in the middle of the 2016 UK national tour of Chicago in which she is playing Mama Morton, and her motherly duties extends to the Chicago cast as she has already developed a mother-hen role backstage. Late nights and early mornings are a regular thing for Sam as she is also working on her upcoming album and stage tour.
She has a natural caring personality and despite her hectic schedule she recently found time to join forces with the Leicestershire Police to help them in their new campaign to stop children being sexually abused.
