Sam Bailey guest panellist on ITV’s Loose Women

Sam has recently been a guest presenter on ITV’s hit daily lunchtime show Loose Women. The show is famous for its controversial topics and grilling of celebrity guests. She appeared on the panel with Nadia Sawalha, Ruth Langford and Jane Moore.

Sam was a great addition to the panel, she looked very much at home on the show. The four women made the show great fun discussing a variety of different topics. One topic that the episode focused on was a 9 year old boy’s diagnosis of ‘gender confusion’. During the discussion Sam opened up and discussed her empathy with the boy.

She told the country about her own struggle with gender identity as a young child, she revealed to her fellow panellists that she went through a phase of wanting to be a boy. Sam was always a tom boy growing up, and when her school football team rejected her because she was a girl, and stated the only way she could play was if she cut her hair off, she decided to take matters into her own hands and went home to do exactly that.

Sam disguised herself as a boy in the football team for two years. Frightened of the consequences of her actions. She emphasised on the show, the importance of having family support during hard times when children are starting to question who they are as a person.
The entire audience applauded once she had finished telling her inspiring story. Sam had a great time on the show, and hopes to be back again soon.
