Sam grips the handlebars for Telegraph Ride 100

Sam’s self-confessed biggest challenge this year was completing the Prudential RideLondon event as part of the Telegraph’s team. The event is in aid of encouraging people to cycle carefully, safely and more frequently and each year the event sees tens of thousands of spectators and participants getting involved and supporting.

Sam was a part of a five member team, alongside BBC broadcaster John Inverdale; former Olympic triple jumper and Team Telegraph’s captain Jonathan Edwards CBE; Welsh rugby union player Shane Edwards and Scottish radio and television presenter Jenni Falconer.

Team Telegraph were great support for one another throughout the 100 mile cycle route. From the beginning Sam and Jenni Falconer formed an instant bond, and cycled by one another the entire race. When Jenni’s bike got a number of punctures on the route, Sam was there to stop and help her repair them. She and Jenni both expressed how grateful they were to have one another by the end of the race. Sam stated that “Jenni and I had such a giggle, it was so much fun”.
