Sam plays in major charity football match

Swansea City hosted their annual SwansAid charity football match at the Liberty Stadium on Sunday May 31 which Sam played in alongside a host of other celebs.

Last year’s winning captain Adam Woodyatt returned to attempt to take home the title for the second year running. Nearly 11,000 people attended to see his side defeat Danny Dyer’s team in a high goal-scoring encounter that ended 14-12. This year, Woodyatt’s opposing captain was another X Factor star, Jake Quickenden, whose team triumphed 15-12.

Other stars that attended included: The Only Way in Essex star, Dan Osborne; Eastenders actors, Jake Wood and Ben Hardy; Blue singer, Lee Ryan; singer-songwriter, Dane Bowers; and soap star, Terry Alderton. Also playing were Swans legends Lee Trundle and Andy Robinson.

Former Swansea City Captain Trundle demonstrated his incredible skill with a dazzling first-half hat-trick. Sam scored two fantastic goals, but unfortunately her team couldn’t hang on for the win! Nevertheless, the day was a fantastic success that raised some valuable funds for charity.
